Scope of application of ASTM A106 standard
1. ASTM A106 standard is applicable to the manufacture of seamless carbon steel and welded carbon steel pipes for high temperature and high pressure services.

ASTM A106 Standard manufacturing process requirements
1. Carbon steel pipes are usually produced by hot rolling, cold drawing or cold rolling, and need to undergo appropriate heat treatment and cold working to ensure that the microstructure and mechanical properties of the pipe meet the standard requirements.
2. Seamless pipes and welded pipes are different in production process, and different processing and process control are required to ensure that the intrinsic quality and surface quality of the pipe meet the requirements.
3. The manufacture of welded pipes requires strict control of welding process and post-weld heat treatment to ensure that the performance of the weld area meets the standard requirements
