SAE1006 and SAE1008 are low carbon steel materials under the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) standard, which are widely used in many industrial fields. These two steels are mainly favored for their good form ability, weld ability and mechanical properties, especially in the manufacture of thin plates, wires and other lightweight structural parts.
Product Details
SAE1006: It contains about 0.06% carbon, which is a low carbon steel. Due to its low carbon content, SAE1006 has good ductility and processing properties, suitable for applications that require deep drawing and complex forming.
SAE1008: It contains about 0.08% carbon. Although the carbon content is slightly higher than SAE1006, it is still a low carbon steel. This makes SAE1008 have higher strength and hardness while still maintaining good machine ability.
